Tax junk food? Bit of a joke. I suspect diet in Mexico, as anywhere, is directly related to socio-economic status. Poor people's staple diet is what is available and cheap (corn and beans). High carbs. Overconsumption of Coke et al is likely lack of personal awareness of health - public education. Also, compare school physical fitness programs here with some other parts of the world. If the government must tax junk food, let them at least spend the revenue on health awareness programs.
