My information is that Shaw has just sent up a third Satellite this past spring, one which will carry only/most HD channels. This third Satellite will have a footprint aimed at only servicing Canada. If you sign up for this programming for HD, you will lose out on your ability to get Shaw Direct much south of Canada. Your system will then be out of range, totally. But if you stick to what you have and aim a dish at the older satellites, you'll be okay as long as they are functioning. Slightly larger dishes and good aims may get some limited HD, unless they eventally try to corall all HD to the new satellite.
