We will be going again to Chapala tomorrow night to la Calle Cinco de Mayo. There will be three plus long blocks of memorials to the dearly beloved. Many dozens of them. Also there will be memorials inhabited by live "dead" people. Some may be playing cards or drinking tequila or kissing passionately. These all will be in the memory of family members and they will include all of those family members' favorite vices (probably except the mistress on the side). So for every cross there will be a bottle of tequila or vodka or a Cuban cigar. And thousands and thousands of flowers, mainly marigolds, the color of the day each year. It is a truly extraordinary place to be each Nov. 2. Plus, no tourists. Going to TlaquepArte tomorrow earlier then on to Chapala's display at night. This exhibition features art and fashion from many countries, including Venezuela, Columbia, Cuba, Argentina, Ecuador, and many more. I want to add to my collection of hand-made wooden cars (all models circa 1959 or earlier) from....of course you figured it out...Cuba. I think I want three to five more of these multi-hard-wood marvels. Can hardly wait. Looking forward to coming home to La Manz after Arleen's show closes in late November here on Lake Chapala. Best wishes.
