Have to start out here on a sad note--sad that is for all you folks who still are missing out on some great baseball!! Another action packed game was played out on the field Friday night!!

Scottie's Sharks vs Felipe's Crocodiles once again put on a spectacular display of strategy and skill.

The Crocodiles owned the first 2 innings by not allowing the Sharks' batters to score a run, while scoring 5 runs themselves. Sounds bad, not what you might think folks, read on.

The Crocs only scored 1 run in the first inning. However it was Octavio's grand slam that really hurt the Sharks in the 2nd. 4 runs were brought in once again by the "Mickey Mantle" of La Manzanilla. The next batter for the Crocs struck out--3rd out.

Were the Sharks discouraged, not at all. The first two batters, Luis Victoria and Bryon Lopez each got on base and waited anxiously to run the distance.
They didn't have to wait for long. Pacho was at the plate. What Pacho may lack in size, he more than makes up for in heart, skill and determination. The pitch was thrown, and the bat connected. Stand up double for Pacho, and 2 runs batted in.

3rd & 4th innings the Sharks held their ground, their fielding was remarkable, denying any runs for the Crocodiles. Bryon caught a long, high, fly ball in each of those innings, and one resulted in a double play with an extra out at 2nd base. (The boy has go to learn what the pocket of the glove is for, because his palm stung for a while)

Also congratulations to Juan Pablo of the Crocs on an amazing catch of a hard line drive between 3rd and short stop

5th inning produced 2 runs for each team. Game was called because of darkness. (We really need lights out there because these kids never want to stop, lol)

Final score: Crocodiles-7, Sharks-4

One more note here; because we are still short on Senior Players, some of our Juniors come out and fill in positions so that a game can be played. The skill and maturity of these kids needs to be commended. Their love of the game also shines through.

I know many of you folks are just arriving and getting settled in, but do come out when you can. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you see, and definately entertained.
