In speaking to Shaw, when you initiate a new receiver, they just assume that you are in Canada and they load a program that is primarily to receive the signal from the new third Shaw sat. which can not be received here in Mexico, you are in a catch 22 situation, you have a new receiver but want the old programming from the older existing sats. It is my belief that they are trying to migrate as many customers and especially the new ones to the programming from the new sat. In our case here in Mexico, old is better. If you have an older system in Canada with a dish which is currently set up (aimed) for the old sats, then you can add a receiver as your existing dish will not work with the new sat.

For me in LM, I have the full range of both HD and SD channels with a signal strength of 82 (which is up from last year) and with exception of days like today when it is just teaming down with rain, I get great reception (good day to use the PVR).

The solution is have the receivers programmed in Canada to the old sats and you system will work just fine here.

According to Shaw, they have no immediate intention to disable signals from the two original sats so let us just keep our fingers crossed
