Oh boy; I get to tell my croc in the ocean story: About 3 years ago I was about to launch my 13' Laser from where I kept it up at the campground. The procedure was to rig the boat on the beach, drag it into the water and out to just past where the wave breaks onto the beach. There I would stand in chest deep water, perform the fine tuning of the rigging, push down the center board, hop on and sail away. I was nearly rigged on the beach and about to launch when my friend came and said, "This may not be a good day to sail because a croc has been seen in the water this morning." I continued the rigging as he spoke not ready to give up a nice wind. However, didn't see many people in the water closer to town. At the last moment I decided that I could always sail the next day. Just then along came the croc. It was cruising along the breaker with its mouth wiiiide open like in a cartoon, the length of it quite visible , one of those 12' honkers right where I was about to launch. We ran down the beach and yelled at a swimmer heading into the surf. He moved pretty fast. I sailed the next day. Fun in LaManzanilla. See you in a few weeks. Ron
