I was down to the beach a couple of years ago with no difficulty. Today, there was a great jeezly gate which was DEFINITELY closed. The un-armed, un-uniformed guard stepped around the gate, listened to my request in my pathetic Spanish, and, in fluent Spanish (duh), said some things in a pleasant tone of voice that I could only surmise meant: Forget it, Lady; there is no passage to the beach from here.
I still don't know what the story is.
