Luncheon, music & fashion at Chantli Mare – tickets for sale!

Thank you to all who attended the computer lab inauguration last Friday and to David for posting the great photos! Starting in January, we are very excited to announce that the Wings scholarship students will get to start using the lab on a weekly basis and taking classes there with Irineo, who will be the lab supervisor. We are currently trying to raise more funds to be able to more fully equip the lab and to be able to extend the classes and lab use to the La Manzanilla children, youth and adults who are also very anxious to develop their computer skills. In an effort to expand the computer lab project, we are holding a luncheon benefit “Fashion at the Bay” held at Chantli Mare in Boca de Iguana on Friday, Jan. 10th at 12pm. We are delighted to have Brenda and Ron providing live music, a delicious multiple course lunch prepared by Chantli Mare’s renowned chef Greg Couillard (select a chicken, fish or vegetarian option) and a show with Mexican, American and Canadian models (some of whom are our own scholarship students and their moms!) Thank you to Chantli Mare who is so generously hosting this event and giving 100% of the earnings from the event for the computer lab project to support education in our community. Tickets can be purchased locally from Abi at the La Manzanilla Art Gallery, Lora Loka’s Restaurant, Helping Hands Bookstore and Chantli Mar Restaurant. The cost is 350 pesos per ticket (includes meal, live music, the fashion show and a chance to win a door prize!) The event is already 1/3 or the way sold out, so please do not delay in buying your tickets! Men, women, teen and children are welcome! By attending this event, you will not only get to enjoy a memorable afternoon at the elegant Chantli Mare Restaurant, but you will be helping open doors for more local youth and adults who want to gain computer literacy skills.
