Well, now that the sun is back (hopefully for a while,) here is the summary. We had at least 7 straight days of clouds, and rains that totaled about 4.5". 4.2" of that fell in December, a new record. Here is a view of the last week's rainfall accumulation from the TRMM satellite. You can see that even more rain fell just offshore from us: 8-10": La Manzanilla hasn't had anything like this before in December, according to my and Deanna's weather records going back to 2004. And yesterday's noisy afternoon thunderstorm was unique also. Even in the rainy season thunderstorms like this usually happen at night. I don't see any signs of more clouds and rains for the next few days at least. |
