My experience is that rule one in being informed as to the laws of Mexico is not reading an opinion stated by a non official government source, there has been far too many people lead astray from what the internet (or as some people say 'the church of google' says. Rules two is, what was fact yesterday may not apply today. Lastly, don't state anything unless you have had it given to you in writing from an official office. Even then it may not apply to another state, region, or city. I have been caught up many times stating facts that were either told to me or that I read on the internet which turned out to be nothing more than an anglo doing their best translation which is not worth a damn. The new IMN rules are just a year old and appear to vary depending on who you are and where you are. Case in point, someone in this blog said they did not need financial bank statements to get the new perm res visa which is quite to the contrary to what my experience was or what I have read on the government website, so there you go. I suspect someone was very lucky or the circumstances are not being fully disclosed .
