We tried both of our Canadian bank cards yesterday (Wed) which is market day in Melaque - no money with either card. There was a suggestion to open an account at the bank office on the main street in Melaque - can't remember the name of it - and they would cash cheques on your home account made out to "Cash" or your name. Think we will set up an account and bring some blank cheques next year. (unless an ATM machine comes to La Manzanilla!)
