Sandy: You should be in touch with Felipe who owns CompuPlus right in town. He will set you up with whatever you need. I think some people can get a SIM card in their iPhones here. It depends on how their iPhones are set up. Some are proprietary. I leave mine at home (wouldn't want to lose it or get sand in it) and have a phone I purchased here for 300 pesos. It came with about 200 minutes, so it was practically free. You top it up. This is how I would do it. If you need the info on your iPhone, bring it and use it in Airplane Mode and connect to WiFi. People have wracked up thousands of $ in bills using roaming in other countries. I'd be careful of that.
