Good summary Rick. I may still have it wrong on the immediate $500. What was clearly stated to me on the larger amounts was this. If I opened an "investment account" with Intercam, then I could ask Intercam to transfer some of that to my account at Banamex. The "asking" part could be a simple phone call or e'mail to Intercam (either of them from out of Mexico). The transfer to Banamex is also electronic, so don't need to be in Mexico either. This is an important point because I understand that under the new laws, you can only deposit a maximum of 15,000 pesos into your bank account. So, working through Intercam, I can always top up my Banamex account from afar when I need to. Yes, Intercam is going to be a bank. They already have the manager in place. The are not sure exactly when, but fairly soon.
