You can buy agricultural shade cloth in Santiago. It comes in various weaves, depending on what degree of shadiness you want. It is, however, quite stiff and would not drape like normal curtains. The store can have it cut and hemmed to your dimensions. Can only describe the store's location, as being about halfway down the long stretch of stores across from golf course just before Commercial Food Store. The sign says "plastico". Maybe someone eelse knows the address.
