Helga Perhaps you could "lead the charge" here in Vancouver, BC. At 9 o'clock every night, a cannon is discharged, at noon every day a airhorn sounds the first four notes of "O Canada", or walking through the downtown area of Gastown the sidewalks are often blocked by tourists who, cellphones in hand, countdown to the chiming of the infernal Gastown Steam clock. Really, in this age of GPS and radar, does Vancouver really need to incessantly sound a fog horn. Everyone knows its foggy and it certainly not a navigational tool. It is called "character" and, to understand "character" one must understand the history and the culture. Jim
