Before I go into details of today's game, I would like to apologize to all of our fans out there for being " a little lax" in the reports as of late. Unfortunately, life sometimes gets in the way of fun even down here in Paradise.

My thanks to John, Scottie, and Robin for running the Senior league lately, giving me some well needed time to "recoup" and "regroup" myself.

And thank you too, to Randy and Vicki who have stayed on with me and the Juniors. Trying to keep 24, 8-11 focused, to listen, and learn is no small task!!
Vicki, your "game plan" today on how to manage this was absolutely brilliant.

Our Junior Teams played today with a passion, determination, and FOCUS that is usually seen only at a much older level. The game was a nail-biter from start to finish. Each player did their absolute personal best today!

Lobos took first bat today. Alexander "The Great"
started with a solid hit that unfortunately for him headed straight to "The Colorado Kid"s glove. A quick pickup by Lyle who launched it to first base, and a little above. Yahir the first baseman was quick to become air borne, make the catch, and land back on the base just a split second before Alexander's foot reached it. Batter up, batter down--badda bing badda bang--1 out. Yoshio up next, and was rewarded with a trip to first base and soon was on his way to second, thanks to Isac's grounder down the third base line. Both runners gained an extra base due to an overthrow. Now the Lobos had a runner in scoring position, and one potential on second. But sadly, that's where they stayed, as the next 2 batters struck out.

Now the Osos took their turn at bat. Annette, lead off the batting order. Now this young lady appears to be all Sugar & Spice--yup--covering a piece of DYNAMITE!! Another lead off batter with a long fly ball--going, going, going--right into a brick wall named Alexander. Oh what a bad break for our young firecracker. 1 out! Next batter, Lyle, steps up to the plate, rubs his hands with dirt, (Jackie Robinson style.) Pounds his bat once, twice, three times on home plate, (Lye's style)and then settles into his stance. Ball one, and 3 more pounds on the plate, the pitch is delivered, a mighty swing connected, and Lyle was off and running--first, second, third, and finally home!!!! First clean home run of the season for our Colorado Kid!! Osos are on the scoreboard.

The next 2 innings, the Lobos were held to only 1 run in each while the Osos gained none. Game score at this point-Lobos 2, Osos 1.

Every batter on both teams was on base at some point in the game, but the excellent fielding by both teams prevented many potential runs.

Congratulations go out to Yahir and Christian of the Osos who ran down Yoshio in a "hot box" between first and second. Congrats to to Yoshio who really made the two fielders work for it!!

Inning 4 and once again "the break out inning"
Lobos were held scoreless while the Osos' scored two runs, both I might add brought in by the girls--Annette and Anna Marie "the Speeding Bullet".

Inning 5 and final, Lobos gained another run when Alexander batted in Oscar--Muy Chico. But then had runners left on the corners when the umpire uttered those fatal words--3 out!

While it really wasn't needed, the Osos wanted their last bat and drove in 2 more runs by Neo and Christian.

Final Score--Osos 5, Lobos 3
114
