Maria's many animals

As many of you already know Maria(lived with her husband, Don Luis, across from the elementary school) died around 9 days ago. She and her husband took in many abandoned dogs and cats and provided them with food and shelter. Each year I went to them taking as many as 5-10 cats to be neuter/spayed at the Cisco's clinic, but that never seemed to make a dent in the numbers.
Don Luis is now left to provide for the 18+cats and 6 dogs(2 are puppies).
I have convinced the neighbors/family that "bagging' the cats and dumping them in the forest was a terrible idea -certainly before we were able to spay or neuter them.
Dra. Rocio with supplies and medicines provided by Cisco's has been so very kind to offer her services. So far 5 have been spayed or neutered. We will continue to do this until all are done. I think we have 8 more cats and 2 more dogs.

Doug and Dianne have provided a big bag of cat food and 2 wonderful Gringos walking by gave me money to buy a 2 weeks+ supply of dog food. Lyn Willard, a neighbor, will help feed the animals when we're done sterilizing them.

I am happy to report that the animals are in pretty good health and are not as wild as I had previously thought. There are a few beautiful young cats and the 2 puppies are very cute and will be small (15 pounds+-). Their mom is a Chihuahua mix(she's totally blind) and the father, I was told, was even smaller. Any/all of the animals are up for adoption.

If you can help in anyway by either donations of dog/cat food you have to leave behind or monetary donations to help buy food and defray the cost of the spaying/neutering please bring your donations to Marisco's Deli, Dra Rocio's office, e-mail me at the above address or flag Rusty down.
Any help would be appreciated.
Of course you can adopt one of them.
Thank you for your support.
