We are staying in Ajijic and it is the big topic of conversation amongst Canadians, Americans and Mexicans. Due to an unfortunate cold I was at the Dr's office with my husband. The Dr. asked if we had heard the news, which we had not, so he filled us in. He personally knew the couple and was very upset and outraged. They were in a gated community and unfortunately came home and disturbed the intruders. Apparently both their high end trucks were taken. We have talked to many Mexicans who have expressed their anger and sadness for such tragedy. The police presence in town is overwhelming with helicopters, Federal and local police rushing about. We still feel safe and are not any more or less worried about our safety. We do send our prayers to the family and friends of the deceased couple.
