I am not callous or trivializing this act. As an example, however, I live about 4 hours south of Oakland, California. I also live 5 hours north of Compton, California. Lots of heinous, random, senseless violent crime in both of those cities. But than news never makes it to our town website, and is very seldom carried in our local papers, or even our regional TV. To your point, however: I am not sure why I felt the need to make the comment, either.
