The library is a developing project with La fundacion de Catalina and Rural Literacy Project ( RLP - Sue Oriley). We are in the early stages of what will eventually be a full scale lending library for the people of La Manzanilla.

We are located in the classroom next to the computer lab on the Foundation site (behind the Kinda School).

The library will be bilingual, but with a focus on Spanish books, for obvious reasons. Things are going quite well and children arriving for other classes are already taking advantage of supervised reading sessions.

We can always use volunteers and love to have people stop by and see how we are progressing. I will be there this Monday from 1:30 until 4 if you have any interest and time to spare.

We continue to welcome childrens' books in Spanish and it would be delightful if many of us could arrive here next season with a few spanish books mixed in with our personal items to donate to the library.

We are also short on a computer to be used as our main tool once we begin the lending process in the future. Any laptop donations would be terrific!

Any questions don't hesitate to ask, my email is sue.oriley@gmail.com. More information can be found on the Catalina web site and through googling ruralliteracyproject.com
