Hola. I just returned from a short trip to find Activos on 'The Board' but not for a good reason. Well, not exactly for a bad reason, either, depending on your point of view. However, since we want to serve the community of LM, it is not a practice Activos wants to be associated with. As soon as we work out the kinks, Activos will have a new, energetic manager, Gabriela Martinez, on board. For now the onus is on me and I plan to get to the bottom of the source and/or direction of the smoke, whichever it turns out to be. On a more positive note, we at Activos want to thank all the supporters and participants of Activos that help keep our project open and available to LM. It is our hope that Activos becomes more and more of a healthy alternative in our pueblo and that we can make it accessible to more people, especially our youth. And more important that the message of movement and exercise as a life style becomes part of daily living and just as important as eating and sleeping. And as our friend Rusty would say, "Don't be round, take a walk". In another entry or episode, if you will, I will inform you of Activos's next activity and the outcome of scholarships provided by the Zumbathon fundraiser and the Rees family. Hasta luego, Cruz |
