That was a nice cooling thundershower on a hot afternoon! My backyard temp dropped a good 10 degrees F. I got 0.26" here south of the Jardin, over about an hour. The GOES IR loop (http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/epac/flash-avn.html) shows a large red and orange blob inland from us. It still looks like it's spreading, but that's probably mostly "debris clouds" now that its activity has peaked.
Maybe more to come later, in the wee hours like normal??
Closer to the center of the big blob, N2Futur on the Melaque/Barra Tomzap forum reported 0.43" earlier. And the Weather Underground personal weather station in Santiago (suburb of Manzanillo) reported 1.22" of rain in an hour (light blue line in graph below,) and a 15 degree cool-down (red line!)
(PS, I have severe weather station envy! )
