No, I didn't have any warning about this morning's red blob, any more than the usual daily chance of thunderstorms. Sometimes they hit us, but usually they don't. When they do hit, it's usually in the wee hours like last night. Except for the strong gusty winds and the incredible lightning show, it was pretty normal for us. Also normal for us is the several dry days between thunderstorms.

As far as the rain forecast for the next couple days, I don't see any sign of "organized" tropical storm development. And nothing to note as far as special thunderstorm triggers (such as passing tropical waves or unusual surface troughs.) So the Weather Underground's forecast is as good as anything else: http://www.wunderground.com/q/locid:MXJO0760

I recommend cutting their forecasted chance of thunderstorms in half, at least. Their trending might be about right though.
