I saw a guy in La Manzanilla who used a machete on his dog by slapping it against the dog. I was horrified! I would never use a machete on my dogs. I consider it cruelty. And the article says those beaded lizards are underground from Nov. till April which coincides with my sojurn. So I hopefully we will never meet. And they climb trees, so that would be a way out for them if we did cross paths. I think the reason I haven't seen them in 20 years is because they are endangered. Humans are the biggest predator not dogs. If I saw a human endangering the lizard, I wouldn't use the machete on them either. Only something that was attacking me or my lovely dogs.
