Had a mellow swim this morning in front of Pedro's. As we all know, the beach has changed due to several days of high surf. Just a few yards offshore, there is a trench which prevents the waves from breaking until they hit the shore. Timing is everything. Wait until the last wave of the set surges onto the beach, and just jump in and swim. After thirty yards or so, there is a sandbar if you need to stand and catch your breath. Getting in is the hard part but, again, timing is everything. The steepness of the beach is creating a rather strong undertow. So, try to bodysurf a set of waves to get as close to the beach as possible, then stumble through the pebbles and have a seat at Pedro's, and congratulate yourself on a job well done.
