Shane: I have driven in Nicaragua, El Salvador, (you left off Honduras)and Costa Rica. I think it's the usual: don't drive at night and don't expect to make a lot of miles in the day. Keep your gas tank relatively full. Nicaragua is especially dicey with corrupt police. It would be wise to check on currency differences. While, I know El Salvador and Nicaragua accepts U.S. dollars, I'm not sure about Guatemala and Honduras. That's all I know. Hope your friend has a safe, yet exciting, trip. |
