The expats who live in La Manzanilla all year around contribute to this community on a daily basis, so there is some resistance on our part to the winter fundraising blitz without knowing exactly where our donations would go and whom they would serve. For example, I'm off to the daily feed of 26 cats and dogs, who would starve to death if they depended on the tourist season for survival.
