Hola, good news. We will have police back either tomorrow or Monday. The only glitch is whether the phone is back in service and when. The phone number to the police and Delegado's office , when it gets paid, is 315 351 5048 . In case the phone is not up, one can call the Emergency number, 315 112 4048. This connects you with Francisco, our ambulance driver who also assists people with other problems and emergencies. This number is the one found on the refrigerator magnets and Francisco can hunt down the police from his radio or try to summon the help that is needed. We will be holding an Emergency Response meeting this coming Tuesday evening, probably in the Delegado's office. We'll confirm the day, time and place in a couple of days. Anyone interested in the topic is invited. I think our security and safety needs attention and the community needs to know what is available. Also, LM needs to be ready for our tourist season. A special thank you goes to our active Secretary, Gaby, who got the ball rolling. Somehow, La Huerta forgets that we are a tourist and expat community which needs active surveillance. We tourists and expats are the lifeline, unfortunately, here in LM and we should at least know that our safety is of concern to La Huerta and the local leadership. A little give and take. I guess the season has begun, Cruz PS: We are not ignoring that locals also need the presence of police, protection, I hope.
