This is a special fundraising event to support La Manzanilla’s own, Juan (Juanita). He is the son of the popular Señor Capu or Tacos Chop Chop as many of you know the particular stand.

Juan is a shining star of La Manzanilla, a kind soul with a wonderful smile who is always on the go. Whether it’s working at his family’s taco stand, choreographing Quinceañeras or bringing tolerance and education about the plight of gays and transvestites to La Manzanilla, Juan moves through life with an outstanding attitude and a friendly smile.

This summer he was diagnosed with blood cancer and he is currently traveling back and forth to Guadalajara for treatment. Several of his friends hosted events over the summer to raise money for his expenses.

On Saturday, November 29th there will be another fundraising event. From 8:00-9:30pm at the Casino you can enjoy Mexican Folkloric dancers from La Huerta and from 9:30pm after there will be a show to crown the next, “Queen of Queens.”

Tickets to the event are 60 pesos and there will be a cash bar and typical Mexican food for purchase.

I encourage you to purchase your tickets early…and often. You can buy them in advance at Chop Chop Tacos or from Leia at Magnolia’s.

If you would like to sponsor the event you can make a donation at Chop Chops.
