It has been very difficult to find in-depth info on this low pressure system since it never rose to tropical depression or storm level. This graphic shows what it has been doing for the last few days and is the reason for the heavy rainfall you've had:

Weather Underground is still showing it as 96E but it's hard
to believe it could actually develop any further. The
satellite shots don't show it at all. Very strange. Sure wish
Bret was around to post some of his great graphs and
explanations. It's hard to predict much without being able to open a door and look outside to see what's happening!
