Well, I am that friend, and it was my fault that I neglected to plug my new computer into my usual foolproof system: a surge protector (strip) that is plugged into a voltage regulator (box) that is plugged into a grounded outlet. On the other hand, I would like to boycott CFE until it does a better job of regulating those nasty power surges! When do I get my earplugs? ;-)
