Dobie,

I've been doing worm composting for many years here in LM. I brought my first colony (correct collective noun ??? perhaps a 45 person long thread on the MB will ensue) of 1000 here and it grew beyond belief (actually Willy and Kimberly brought if for me driving). Since we did not plan on anyone taking care of them this off season when we were in Colorado, I gave most of the colony to Herb and Katie here in LM. But, as I returned, I did see some life in my worm composting bins. I'm trying to grow my population back and it is coming back with lots of good kitchen scraps and coffee to keep them up and reproducing. I'll ask Herb if he could spare a soft-ball size group. That size of group is about 500 or so. You'd be amazed at how quickly they populate. They can go/grow like mad in numbers and we get rid of all of our kitchen scraps, both here and in Denver, like mad.
