Fixing Computers Under a Tree

I saw Carol Lopez this morning, getting her computer fixed under a tree.

In this photo, she's sitting with Daniel (he's in his wheelchair), who does the computer work. He lives with his mother 'Socorro' in the house across from the entrance to the Elementary School.

Socorro has a sewing machine there too, and does sewing and alterations of all kinds.

Thanks, David, for this great photo. Daniel looked over the Dell, and is going to
decide whether he or a friend can use it. It's about 10 years old, and might
not work for the idea I had, which was to make it available for Mexican friends who
want to use www.duolingo.com to learn English.

I highly recommend Daniel for computer repairs. He really knows what he is doing. He has done great jobs for me in the past.

This is the other Daniel, Daniel H, and this reminds me of way back in
2001 when I was repairing computers as a way to make a living. It's a story
that doesn't apply to this Daniel but its one I want to tell. I really didn't
know how to repair computers but I did have a phone and would ride my horse to
peoples homes who were having computer problems. I would write the problem down
and then ride home. Late at night (cause the dial up was practically unuseable,
like 4 minute page loads) get on line and post the problem to message boards
where geeks who knew how to fix problems. They would respond with the
solution and I would ride my horse back to the customers house the next
day and fix the problem using the message board geeks solution!
Fun times and fond memories.

I remember that, D, and you used to accept payment in dinner and tequila.

That's a great story, Daniel. Thanks for putting it out there! :o)
