See a long red line in the bay going north/south. Could it be a Red Tide coming in?

There certainly were a lot of beautiful blue waves last night.
Blue waves and blue bottles of blue agave, what a wonderful night!

From what I know, that's not necessarily red tide. It's just algae and this is a naturally occuring event that will sort itself out. We've had it NOB. You can swim in it, I believe, but don't take my word for it. However, it's not pleasant. The tide will turn.

It's a full blown red tide. Been inundating the Manzanillo region for the better part of a week now. To the point that lots of places are not selling seafood at all. All dives in this area have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Has it reached up to Melaque and La Manzanilla yet?

Thanks for this information. Yes, it arrived here, in La Manzanilla, a few days ago.

You may be able to see the reddish band of water in this photo, advancing toward the shore.

Photo taken at 1:05 pm.
