knife attack

Wednesday night at 8;30 PM i was closing my outside metal doors on the beach. Before doing so I was confronted by a woman coming down our spiral stairs from our second floor with a knife in her hand. Peter was upstairs at the time and had no doubt been seen by her while watching TV. She proceeded to attack me with the knife raised to stab which I managed to stave off until we got into the kitchen. She then had me on the floor. Next i was up and pushing her to the seaside gate which she jumped over and had a hard landing on our steps. At that point Peter arrived and it was all over and you can imagine how I was feeling. We called the police immediately who came by quickly and took the details of the attack. They asked if I would prefer charges to which I acceded. They returned in 20 minutes not having found or seen her. She was about 5' 2" in height, quite light skinned, fair hair, a Mexican woman. I have seen this woman in the village. Dressed in a heavy black sweater which probably saved me from a stabbing because with it i could hold off her knife hand. So lock your doors, be careful.

How frightening for you Judy!
I am wondering if this might be the same lady that went into Betty's place last week and started picking up items and putting them in a bag. Betty mentioned that she felt the lady was mentally unwell. Hopefully the police will find her tomorrow. Well done protecting yourself - hope you are sipping a scotch right about now!

Doc Pedro fixed me up. Nice to have one in the house . I hurt now, bruised. Still shaken but mad now. I am going to look for her. The police know her and told me where she hangs out if it is the same woman. Her sloppy black sweater seemed to be key and she is shorter than me so about 5 ft I would say. Thanks for your concern.

I can't seem to bring up the responses to/comments concerning Judy's knife attack, but I wonder if you could tell me approximately where your house is, Judy, and give a more detailed description of the lady? Judy D-B

This is shocking, Judy, and how terrifying for you. I shudder when I think of how this could have gone but for your courage and strength and your wicked will for self-preservation.
Are you needing anything? . . . chicken soup? . . . abrazos?
I do hope you are able to find and i.d. this woman, though I'm sure she has already decided not to tangle with you again!
Cuidado, Dear One.

I think it's time for a slow cruise around town on the ATV. Back beach road and the campgrounds would be a place to start. Also over by the cell tower and by the raunchy bar they call porky's.

Judy you are wonderful and I am so sorry to hear that horror story. Was it the same time like Betty encountered her 5 ft. mex. woman?
Maybe she is showing up at the Centro Salud today
after her fall...
I hope she will be caught soon!

I have a car as well and would be glad to drive around looking for her. If several of us each took a different area at the same time, it might increase chances of finding her. It was Americans/Candians communicating on the internet that led to the capture of one of the men responsible for the murders of two Canadian ex-pats in Ajijic a few weeks ago, so this method of sharing information can be quite effective. Can you furnish any further description or details, Judy?

You are right. She was seen last night by a store owner. Following that up. She was holding her shoulder from her fall down the steps. I think I got off worse. I hurt today.

Judy, so sorry about this...it must have been just after Paula and I spoke with you last night!! Can you give more description of this woman please? I have noticed a woman here in town lately and every time I see her I get a strange feeling. She is about that height and has kind of blonde/gray hair always in one braid and she usually is wearing a skirt. She seems to be walking around not carrying anything and I always feel she is "casing" things out somehow. I would like to know if this is her so I can tell someone if I see her again. I have seen her a few times in the past week. Thanks for more info.

Brave Judy and Peter, this woman is singling out women in her attacks. Little does she know the strength and bravery of you women. We are so sorry and worried about our friends in la Manz. Do take care and keep safe, all of you! And thanks to the women who are coming to the fore to investigate!
Please keep us posted up here in Canada. We are all thinking about you, and to Judy, speedy recovery. Just bruises we hope. Peter, take good care of our Judy! Abrazzos, Sharon and David in Vancouver

Dear Judy: What a shock to receive your account of the attack. To say it could have turned out differently is an understatement. Nita's written you separately and has expressed our feelings so much better than I could ever do. But as an addendum, I would like to say how wonderful it was to read all the messages of support you have received from neighbours and friends. The caring, concern and love shown by everyone towards you must be of tremendous comfort.
You speak of looking for her. I would much rather you be careful than courageous. As one of your friends noted, she may not be stable. Please be very careful. Nita and I send our love to you and Peter. You are very precious to us.
Love: David & Nita in Canada.

I am curious about why people are driving around and looking for a woman we know to be violent, esp. in a ATV., esp. without a good description. How old is she, what race, what coloring, approximate sizem any distiguishing features such as big nose, missing teeth, etc. Has anyone compared notes with Betty and glenn. If the police know who she is and where she likely hangs out, why haven't they brought her in for questioning. Not sure how things work around here, but ????

I have been out with the police all morning following leads. It will be an ongoing process. Hugo leaves tomorrow which is a shame because he has been working hard. We will be taking the report up to La Huerta next week. Presently we are waiting for a search warrant. Stay tuned.

The woman has been spotted in town this morning. Same long sleeve black cardigan . Call the police if seen.

I hurt all over , being busy keeps my mind off it.

Do you have more of a description of her, please? Age? Weight? By light hair, do you mean white or blonde or reddish or brown? Does she wear a skirt, slacks or shorts? You've said she is Mexican but is she light or dark-skinned?

Hope you are soon feeling better, Judy.

She looks older, 55 ish but young the police say due to drugs. Short 4 ft 8 inches. Pretty light skin, hair curly but she had it pulled back. Black bulky sweater around the wrists and long but the police say it is short if we are talking about the same woman. Heavy set. No idea of her pants, I was too focused on the knife. Nothing outstanding. We were struggling most of the time so i really only saw her face before we got into things. Another person has been attacked too. Wish they would come forward.
