we are coming to la manzanilla in august , to visit some family members, does anyone in town rent jeeps or stand up paddle boards? also looking to do some fishing and surfing.. any info will be helpful cant find too much online

Surfin' approx 25 km north of La Manz is the turn off to the even smaller town of Arroyo Seco. It is about 3 km west of Hwy 200. Drive through town -- when you see the small open church on your left the road splits. The right fork (you have to drive across an arroyo) leads to a very nice beach (Playa Chica) you will pass the Arroyo Seco Surf shop (next to the school). The Surf Shop is owned by Artemio and his wife (Sandra?). Very nice people, they rent boards, give surf lessons. Both are fluent in English and Spanish.
I have had a lesson from Artemio and highly recommend him.
If you Google "Arroyo Seco surf" you will find info.

You can rent stand up paddle boards from Dave Collins in La Manzanilla. For fishing, ask for Arturo at Restaurant Cato, next to the pescaderia (fish market).
