Weather data for June

We had a much rainier than normal June, aided by a Cat 4 hurricane (Christina), an Invest or two, and a tropical storm (Elida.) At this rate we might run out of storm names before we run out of storm season... It was also quite warm and humid until around the 20th when showers started keeping us cooler. The ocean warmed up much earlier and warmer than normal this spring, which had a direct effect on air temperature and humidity. I was out of town the 1st half of June so I don't have good temperature and humidity data to compare to historical averages. At least my rain gauge has a daily & weekly memory, so I can usually retrieve that data. Rainfall for the month, June 2014: 10.50" / 267mm. Rainiest day: 3.56" / 90mm (on June 11th, related to Cat 4 Hurricane Christina.) Avg June rainfall (2004-2013): 3.70" / 94mm. Record max June rainfall (2004-2013): 13.42" / 341mm (June 2012) YTD rainfall: 12.02" / 305mm. Avg annual rainfall (2004-2013): 37.1" / 942mm. Hottest afternoon readings since June 15: June 18th hit 96.4°F / 35.8°C, while the relative humidity was 60%, for a heat index ("feels like") of 117°F / 47°C. Hopefully those kinds of heat index days are over!

Mr. Dry House on the Melaque/Barra Tomzap forum reports his June rainfall total was 21.375". It's hard to believe they are only 8-10 miles from us, as the cloud travels! http://69.73.170.179/ph5/read.php?12,154856 (you need to log in to your Tomzap account to see their posts.)

There's a lot of things on Tomzap that are hard to believe.

Hola, Bret. It is so good to see you back in action and in good form, very appreciated. We have a special request for you. The Boxing Club has a boxing event scheduled for this Saturday evening. They are on pins and needles hoping that it won't rain because they will have to reschedule. Can you look into your magic ball there and tell them what the probability of rain will be on Saturday and if possible, LOL, when . Can you imagine a teenager anticipating his first boxing match (in training since May) having to wait another week to perform. The good side is that he can train for another week but it will still be a bummer. So keep that rain away until another day, Bret, please. Cruz PS: There won't be just teens boxing.
