update on that constitutional change re landtitle for no Mexicansl

Posted by Dorrie Woodward on July 4, 2014, 7:35 pm

I see the reform of article 27 of the constitution, preventing foreigners from owning land on the coast and the border areas, has failed for technical reasons.
Apparently this was in Feb 2014. Any updates or info about whether this initiative might be resumed at some point soon?
Thanks for any info you might share.

I heard a rumor that the land all around the lagoon will be taken over by the government just like they did several years ago in Tenacatita. If this happens, that means that my wife and I are probably going to lose our home. It is located several lots east of Yolanda's business which by the way is my Sister-in-law. I am married to Maria, she is the daughter of my Mother-in-law who owns a liquor store right across the street from the church. I hope that it is just a rumor. People pay their fair share for years and for what? So any corrupted person can just use the feds for their own personal use and take everyone's property? I don't like it at all!

The Federal Government did not take over Tenacatita. Situation might be better if they did

I only said what I said because La Manzanilla has always been my second home to me. Unfortunately, our home, and even my Mothers home is going to be affected by what's going to happen soon. I have been getting conflicting reports to what part of land is going to be removed (no longer considered part of La Manzanilla) from La Manzanilla, but it is still bad news for everyone who currently lives in that area.
I still wish that it won't happen, but money still talks.
