Home for our cat!

Posted by Miriam on July 7, 2014, 1:14 pm

"Mona" is a somewhat older cat (13 years), shy but a very pleasant company. Moving out of the house which was her home for the last 10 years, she needs a new place to live. Is someone interested in taking her?

If you are moving to another house in La Manzanilla or even across the mountain, can you consider taking Mona with you? Cats are more attached to people than places and, unless you find a willing family who will take her, adoption will be difficult because local shelters only take in cats and dogs no older than nine months. My own cats have moved with me several times over the past few years, including half way across the country, and they always adjust to their new homes quickly. Suerte.

I hope you are joking. How could you dump a cat that you've had for so long?
On second thoughts perhaps Mona deserves someone better!

In fairness to Miriam, I totally understand her dilema. We moved to Mexico 15 years ago with a carload of things and two German Shepherds. We sold our house and looked to find someone to adopt our older cat. We found a lovely couple with 4 adult cats, all adopted by them. Hey gave our cat a home and even a follow up call to let us know how well she settled in, finding her own special chair. So good luck Miriam. May you find a loving home for yours.
