We´ve had humpbacks (the same species shown in this video) surprise us and swim beneath the whale watching boat before, but never had one raise up the boat. We always try to maintain a safe distance and to never get in front of them, but sometimes they do get curious and approach.

Whales, and other animals for that matter, know much more than we generally give them credit for.

Thanks for those short clips, Daniel. Whew, that was almost ptarmigeddon for those birds (though they're not even ptarmigan--I couldn't resist) and then there was the Owl and the Pussy cat. What fun.
