When the remnants of Odilie took a similar path they took all kinds of preventative measures and ended up getting very little rain. Even with all of the fancy satellites and weather information there was both a failure to predict the record setting rains and the failure to correctly predict the second event. A "we didn't expect that" and a "we didn't expect that", makes one wonder about our overall ability to forecast anything.
