February Fishing

I'm planning on bringing my brother to La Manzanilla in February and wonder if the fishing there is good then and whether I can get some recommendations and contact information as to whom to go out with for a half day of fishing.
We tried this several years ago from Manzanillo in October and the results were more than a little disappointing. It was a complete bust. I'm hoping not to repeat that.

There are never guarantees with fishing. Dpends on the weather, ocean conditions, water temp., feed, etc. For fishing and diving out of La Manzanilla, contact Arturo through restaurant Cato (he's Cato's son). I don't have Arturo's cell#, but you can call the restaurant at 351-5285. Good luck!

Of course we understand fishing results can vary. Our first mistake was going out when it was still too hot. Our second mistake was hiring a guide who only wanted to extract more money once he got us on his boat.
Since we are planning to stay in La Manzanilla for a week, I am hoping to charter at least for a half day to take my brother out while we're there.
We live in Ajijic, BTW.

Also, if you've used fishing charters out of Barra, your suggestions appreciated. It was pointed out to me that there is no lagoon at Manzanilla for the boats.
I'm in Ajijic and will be calling in country. I have a Mexican cell phone so cell numbers are better.

Also, a diver, fisherman named Evers. Find his complex, right next to the crocodile laguna, north side and on the beach.
I've been out with him and a company of people, always enjoyable! We catch em' and we catch 'em!
