Helping Hands Bookstore is now open Tuesday to Saturday inclusive from10am til 12 noon.

In just a couple of weeks we'll be back to 7 days/week.

We're looking forward to seeing our NOB friends returning.
Hopefully they'll be bringing books to donate.
Remember, no hard covers,please.

Just wondering why no hardcovers....I have a few wonderful ones that I was going to donate, along with about 20 paperbacks. I cannot throw them out in the garbage - any ideas?

Someone could do a Fahrenheit 451 on the ratty old paperbacks that are falling apart and taking up valuable shelf space. Just saying.

My understanding, Sherri, is that hard-covers do not sell . . . maybe our woossie old wrists won't hold them up . . . or they knock over our cervezas when we prop book on bottle . . . or they're just too heavy to carry around in beach bags.
They are sold, when they do show up, uninvited, on the bookstore's front step, for 5 pesos. Doesn't make much sense to pay to bring them down and then have them earn so little.
