Smog check in La Huerta?

Does anyone have any recent info (name, directions and phone number if possible) about an emissions testing place in La Huerta? My Jalisco-plated car is due in November. I know about at least one report of a place in Autlan, but man I would like to find a closer one! (The guy in Cihuatlan doesn't do them any more.) Thanks!

Hola, Bret. There use to be one in La Huerta which was on and off because of their machine/computer, whatever. If I remember, I can check on Tuesday when I go to La Huerta for plates. Oh, what year is your car? Cruz

That would be super if you could see if they are open for emissions testing in the next few days. It's a 2013 model Nissan. My plates end in the number "0", so I know I'm supposed to go in November, but hopefully they can take me a little early.

Thanks!

Hey Bret....

Israel
Martin Diaz Covarrubias #71
La Huerta Jal
(357) 384-1501

Other side of the highway...go a little past the entrance to the centro and get onto the lateral coming back....think that there is a plumbing store on the corner. Israel is a few blocks up the road on the left.

Bret, why does 0 mean November?

This guy did it last month

Jalisco emissions testing program

In case you haven't heard about this yet, a new law was passed in Jalisco a couple years ago saying that every private vehicle registered in Jalisco is required to be emissions tested annually. To spread the testing load out, you are supposed to get tested in the month that corresponds to the last digit in your license plate number.

It's probably unlikely that you would get ticketed for not having a current emissions sticker around here in the small coastal towns, but your chance of trouble would be a lot higher if you ever drove in Guadalajara (and maybe PV.)

Jalisco emissions testing website (Spanish): http://semadet.jalisco.gob.mx/medio-ambiente/calidad-del-aire/control-de-emisiones-vehiculares

Table showing which month corresponds to the last digit in your plate:

For example, my plates end in "0", so I'm supposed to go in November. Hopefully there is some leeway. I'm actually going in late October.

Where to go? Since the guy in Cihuatlan doesn't do the testing anymore, the closest is this guy Israel in La Huerta (see other posts in this thread.) If he ever stops doing it, then Autlan would be next closest, followed by PV then Guad. Could get to be quite a hassle.

By the way, even brand new cars are subject to this annual testing (very diminishing returns there IMO.)

This is the first I've heard of this.
Does this have to be done with every Jalisco-plated car? Does the year matter?
