solo travel and taxi safety

I am flying in/traveling solo and wondering about my safety by taxi from airport to LM and not speaking a lot of Spanish. Aside from sharing a taxi does anyone have any wisdom on the matter?

Never heard of anyone having a problem with the taxi drivers. They will understand when you tell them La Manzanilla.

It will not be a problem for you..with or without Spanish. When you arrive just go to the taxi que...the current charge is 760 pesos, and yes, I just did it, alone. Buen viaje or have a good trip!

Do not worry. My 84 year old Mom feels comfortable jumping in a cab alone for the ride to LM.

Clearly say "La Manzanilla", in order to avoid confusing them with "Manzanillo".

post a message on this board: ride wanted from zlo (manzanillo to la manz ).December 5.(time) will share taxi .....post it now and bump it 2weeks before arrival if you have not had an earlier answer

You can also ask for an English speaking driver. I have gone alone in taxis several times. But I try to share from the airport to save money. Most of the time I can find someone.
