These things are always so interesting, hey Carol. I've been using a non-detergent washer ball called Smart Klean (you can imagine how I feel about that cutesy spelling). The ball is just a little larger than what I can hold between my two hands, finger tips to finger tips and heels of hands together, but the weight is negligible. Each ball costs about $40 and is good for 365 washes. I've been using mine for almost a year now, took it to LM for last year, and will be bringing a new one along this year. The package says that it leaves no residue and is excellent for babies, eczema, and sensitive skin, with zero chemical run off. I particularly like that there is NO ODOUR. Here's another line: it "contains 4 types of ceramic pellets and 2 magnets that physically boost the water's ability to clean fabrics naturally & effectively. It's just this green ball with holes in it and the pellets which rattle around inside. It needs an hour of sunlight per month to recharge these ceramics and magnets--easier to get there than here! Check it out at www.SmartKlean.com.

Thanks for the other idea, Jo Anna, I remember some disks that used to be sold with a similar way of working - even better than detergent, if it really works. Lolli, I think you can only buy the Dizolve online. and the shipping is free for 2 packages or more.

Hola. Love the information. Gracias There is a biodegradable detergent here called Roma. It comes in liquid or powder form and available everywhere. I'm using it also to spray plants. Don't recall the price, just happy to have it. Cruz
