Wow, that was a hard rain and wind that just came thru! Water everywhere... Huge waves coming into the beach... Yikes! The power went off a few times but came back on, amazingly

Satellite showed Hurricane Vance making landfall north of PV. I imagine at least the waves are from Vance.

Lots of rain! Here is the weather loop from last night.

Looks like a rain engine. Could be more for the next day or so?

Is anyone using a rain gauge? I bet we are around 5 inches + and more on the way!

North Vancouver, here in BC has just experienced 3-1/2 inches in a day and all hell has broken loose: schools closed, people evacuated from their homes, etc.
Do you suppose it could be because they 'paved paradise'?

I think the rain is more in the 8-10 inch range.

Pedro and I drove to Melaque and Cihuatlan this morning and Hwy 200 was just a mess. And the rain never decreased in intensity. I'm sure the croc laguna is open for business and I will be swimming among crocs in dirty water for a while.

And looking at satellite pictures, I don't the storm is over. At least (for now) we still have power.

Where is Bret B. when we need him?

This is a good resource to show rainfall until noon tomorrow:

Weather Underground was showing graphics for an "invest"
offshore yesterday but it's now disappeared. I guess there was no indication it was going to develop into a storm or even a tropical depression so they dropped it. Looks like
more rain for La Manzanilla for at least 24 hours though.

Deanna ~ do you think you could post an up-dated version of that weather pattern?
Thanks in advance,

I should probably re-post the full info on how to get that map:

Site: http://smn.cna.gob.mx

On front page, go to Acerca del SMN,
choose Avisos y Alertas
Choose Mapas de areas con potential de Tormentas.....

The map is updated at noon every day. Is it still raining there??

Actually, we have had a few nice days of sunshine ~ and I'm hoping that it will continue without interruption, but I AM standing by just in case I need to close my windows tonight (or soon). Thanks again for the information.

It does seem suspicious that just when checked out we have to deal with this unexpected heavy rain. Wasn't he in charge of these things for awhile?! Bret, come back, we need you!!!!
