Phone plan in La Manz

I have an iPhone 5 and I would like to get a sim chip for a pay-and-talk plan while in La Manz. Any suggestions of what works best for local calls and calls to Canada. Thanks,

As long as your phone is UNLOCKED you can just go to celmex and get a sim card (100 pesos) and pay 150 pesos for air and data time and off you go. The entire process took 15 minutes with my iphone. When I return to Canada, I just remove the sim card, install my old telus sim card and I am back to normal. The celmex system allows for local and long distance calls (which are not all that expensive).

It's call TELCEL you don't even have to go to the office in Manzanillo you can go with Felipe (in front of Figaros) he has SIM n can help you....If you Iphone is not unlock I know a guy in Barra de navidad who does it

The iPhone 5 requires a nano SIM card rather that the more standard micro SIM card. They are not available in Melaque or Barra de Navidad so a trip to Manzanillo is necessary. I would be surprised if the are available in La Manzanilla.

Is the I 5 Phone the only one that people has been able to get too work in La Manzanilla?
Are there other phones that you can change the sims card on?

I have an old 3s iPhone unlocked and have just a talk plan (no data). Got a sim card from Felipe. It works fine. Sdow you Monday at bridge.

Beth and I have a UNLOCKED Motorola Flip phone that has been used extensively in Mexico and other foreign countries (Canada, SE Asia). It is a simple process to re+re the SIM card.
We have also used very inexpensive Mexican flip phones but get very perplexed with the text process and the phone's desire to auto-complete with words and names that we can't relate to ....
