From past experience just guessing you need to update your LNB to new one . Assuming dish was working in Canada before bringing it down. Most dishes had LNB changed to accommodate new digital channels.

You don 't need an updated LNG. We are still using ours that we brought down years ago. You need to tune into your settings and check your signal strength. Sounds like you need to fine tune the direction of your dush. Once you have a strong enough signal, it should work. If not, call Shaw. They are very helpful.

If you go to Shaw Direct on the internet and go to the live chat, they will walk you through whatever needs to be done. We had problems also when we first arrived and the live chat is a great way to get their help.
Good luck!

....since the Home Away From Home Home program has been cancelled you may find some Shaw CSR support lacking...Bell complained to the CRTC. According to the CRTC watching Canadian content south of the 49th parallel is heinous crime punishable by a whipping with a wet noodle. So officially, Shaw cannot provide CSR support for out of country television service.. they just don't wanna know, and if they find out they may be obligated to suspend your service, so it may not be wise to let them know you are in Mexico.

every year is basically the same: You need to connect everything, make sure that the receiver has a green light on (this tells you that you are receiving a signal), then you need to do a refresh of the receiver via your internet and computer (this can be done via a phone call to shaw but do not tell them that you are in mexico), after that wait 20 or 30 minutes for the receiver to get the new downloaded information, this year we had to wait for 24 hours for the new guide to appear. Now if you have problems, first check your dish alignment (I am assuming that you are using a system that was previously working from last year), if you brought down new equipment, then you have to start from scratch and first aligne (aim) the dish. There are many people here with sufficient experience to help you, contact Philipe as he is the best.
