Names of fresh fish here

Does anyone know the Mexican name for Mahimahi, which is also called dorado? last year the locals did not know it by the above names and had a name of their own, which I cannot remember. What other types of fish are around now that are good? I was told by a friend that there is a fish coming in now that is a "red" fish that is not good eating for foreigners but locals like it. Is this true and if so, what is it called? Thanks for your help. Sandy
